Dear Readers,
As we round off the first quarter of 2025, I am pleased to share an update on the progress we’ve made; a period marked by substantial achievements across various facets of our operations.
We celebrated the inauguration of our new office in Chennai, a move that strategically enhances our operational capabilities and enables more efficient project execution. Read more about this in our dedicated article in this newsletter.
Additionally, we welcomed Massimo De Camillis as the new Managing Director for our Onshore EPC division. Massimo’s extensive background and leadership are anticipated to drive significant growth within our Onshore EPC division.
This quarter was also pivotal in nurturing team building and operational efficiency. I hosted an Operations Workshop focused on delivering operational excellence whilst emphasising the importance of a proactive, can-do attitude and robust teamwork. Such initiatives are crucial as we continue to build a unified and motivated workforce.
Our teams continue to deliver results and work on multiple projects. Our EPCI projects are progressing smoothly, and our close collaboration with Aramco is facilitating a more integrated work environment. As many of you are aware, our majority shareholder, Algihaz Holdings, is extremely focused on our growth plans and our drive to broaden our capabilities to serve our clients’ needs. This led to the establishment of Algihaz Marine Contractors (AMC) in 2024. The capability has grown rapidly, with over 90 people on board. AMC is actively enhancing its fleet and entering into charter party agreements for other significant assets to support our EPCI business. Our teams are working closely and in an integrated manner to prepare for the execution of the 2025-2026 marine campaigns, which are fast approaching, and I am confident they will be delivered successfully.
We celebrated a major achievement with the completion of an extensive maintenance shutdown for SNOC, and we hosted clients Perenco and Dixstone to showcase our rig refurbishment and maintenance capabilities while providing updates on ongoing projects we are delivering to them.
We also reached two important safety milestones: our Onshore EPC division exceeded 4 million manhours, and one of our EPCI projects achieved 1 million manhours, both LTI-free.
Attending the recent Sustainability Committee meeting with other Executive Committee members was a great opportunity to demonstrate our strong support for sustainability initiatives at Lamprell. We’re also proud to have launched the Sustainability Champions Initiative, which enables our team to champion eco-friendly innovations and uphold our commitment to ESG excellence.
Our business development activities are ongoing with key clients, and our VP of Business Development, Brian McLaughlin, and I have travelled extensively, visiting important partners at industry events and within our target regions. We are also collaborating closely with our partners at IMI. You can read more about the world’s second-largest maritime yard in our interview with IMI COO of MRO & New Build Offshore Rigs, Darren Macdonald.
Our HR team continued to promote wellness and team building through various health initiatives and sporting events, which are detailed in this newsletter.
I am immensely proud of our progress and confident in our continued momentum. Thank you to our clients for their continued trust and to our employees for their dedication and hard work.
I hope that everyone enjoyed a pleasant Eid with their families.
Warm regards,
Ian Prescott
