Lamprell's progress in oil & gas and offshore wind divisions

During the last quarter of 2024, Lamprell made significant progress on several key projects. These updates from our oil & gas and offshore wind business units reflect our focus on meeting the demands of the energy industry through robust project execution and innovative engineering solutions.

Offshore wind news update

Lamprell has commenced early works on the RWE Norfolk Vanguard project, which was awarded in September 2024 and includes delivering 184 transition pieces for RWE’s Norfolk Vanguard West and East wind farms. This project, focusing on the serial fabrication of transition pieces and their transport to the clients marshalling yard in the UK, aligns with Lamprell’s strategy to meet the growing demands of the offshore wind sector. Engineering and procurement are moving forward, with ongoing quality collaboration sessions between the Lamprell and RWE teams anticipated to continue, pending the expected formal notice to proceed at the beginning of April. Efforts are also being made to finalise the selection of the heavy deck vessels that will transport the fabricated transition pieces. Fabrication work is set to begin at the tail end of 2025, with the first batch expected to be ready for delivery during the second half of 2026.

Lamprell EPCI projects update

In our oil & gas division, Lamprell achieved substantial progress across a range of key EPCI projects.

Two of the five EPCI projects being constructed at our Hamriyah facility have been completed since our last update. The larger of these, involving the fabrication of five jackets, was delivered with an exemplary safety record, accumulating 3.8 million man-hours without an LTI. The second project, involving a single jacket, was also safely completed and is scheduled for installation offshore.

Progress on the remaining three EPCI projects remains robust.

The first project, consisting of two production decks and two jackets, saw the successful delivery and offshore installation of the first jacket. Engineering and fabrication efforts for the second jacket and production decks are well underway, with load-out anticipated in the first half of 2025.

The second project, which includes one production deck and four jackets, has achieved a significant milestone: all four jackets have been delivered, with three already installed offshore and the fourth set to be installed imminently. The production deck is in an advanced stage of construction and is expected to sail away during the first half of 2025.

The third project, featuring two production decks and one jacket, has been progressing exceptionally well since the first steel was cut in August 2024. This project has continually exceeded client expectations, maintaining a TRIR of zero.

The team has achieved all major procurement milestones and has progressed well in fabrication. We aim to maintain this excellent safety record into 2025, with mechanical completion targeted for early 2026.
