Established in 1976, Lamprell has grown from its origins in the UAE to become a global leader in the energy sector, specialising in oil & gas and renewable energy solutions. Initially focused on providing oilfield services and fabrication within the Middle East, the company has expanded its capabilities to deliver offshore wind assets and both onshore and offshore oil & gas projects to clients worldwide, earning a reputation for quality and reliability. With operations now established in Saudi Arabia and a new office opening in Chennai, India, Lamprell continues to expand its global footprint. This growth reflects our commitment to advancing the energy transition while maintaining excellence in traditional energy markets.

Completes first jackup rig conversion into accommodation unit

1992

Delivers first jackup drilling rig refurbishment project

Fabricated first new build land rig

Builds first new build offshore topside

Entered FPSO module market

Lamprell lists on London’s AIM

2007

Enters wind farm installation vessel market.

Wins first contract to deliver a new build offshore jackup drilling rig.

2008

Lamprell lists on the London Stock Exchange (FTSE 250)

2011

Lamprell acquires Maritime Industrial Services (MIS)

2013

Lamprell’s Assessment and Training Centre established

2014

Featured in Guinness World Record book for heaviest lift by trailers

2017

Signs joint venture for International Maritime Industries (IMI) with Saudi Aramco, Bahri and HHI.

Wins first offshore wind turbine jacket project.

2018

Selected as a contractor on Saudi Aramco’s LTA programme.

Lamprell Saudi Arabia (LKSA) is formed.

2020

Distributor agreement signed with Akselos to develop digital twin technology

2021

Received the Middle East’s first green trade finance facility

2022

Wins first offshore wind turbine transition piece project.

Lamprell goes private, taken over by Thunderball Investments.

2023

Lamprell commissions its serial fabrication production line
